Web marketing is a way to increase traffic to your website, clearly introduce your company and products and most importantly increase your sales and conversion rates.

If you are just beginning your online marketing strategy look at the list below to help get you started on a easy to follow web marketing plan.

Create a entire site using Wordpress

If you don’t already have a website consider creating one by creating a blog. Wordpress is free and I highly recommend it. There are also a few add-ons that should be installed for SEO.

Research keywords

Put together a list of search terms that closely relate to the theme of your site. Keyword Discovery has a very affordable keyword engine that can not only give you ideas but can also tell you which keywords are more competitive and harder to rank than others.

Optimize your content

Put your web marketing and keyword research into action by building quality web pages using these keywords and theme. Always use good search optimization techniques such as optimized Page Titles, Descriptions, Internal Links and page content.

Look at the competition

Be sure to have a look at your competitors and see how they rank in comparison to your site. Also look for other sites who rank well for the search terms you want to rank for.

Build related internal links

Make your site easy to navigate. Provide your visitors with lots of internal links to related content. Your primary goal is to provide your readers with plenty of options to keep them interested so they don’t end up leaving your site too soon. Most importantly steer them to your product or service when appropriate.

Educate your audience

Lastly, build new pages when ever you get a free moment to do so. Describe your product or service you are selling and educate your readers. Your site should be an encyclopedia of knowledge where visitors can find, learn and ultimately make a purchase.

Related Posts:

DigMyLink is a internal linking tool that compares the keywords used in anchor text to the resulting target page.

It focuses on your internal linking structure and allows you to check the recreancy of the links and pages they point to.

Internal links are highlighted in green. Hover over your links and a info window will appear. External links are ignored by DigMyLink and are shown in orange.

If your anchor text points to a page with a matching or similar title and content, then your pages will naturally become more important to the search engines.

For example, anchor links such as “click here” or “read more” should be replaced by rich keyword text to match the theme, title, description and content of the target page.

Using keywords in your linking text can really make a huge difference if used properly. You will automatically be rewarded with better page results and ranking if you carefully construct meaningful and relevant internal links.

Proper linking not only strengthens your internal navigation and site theme, but clearly explains to the visitor what’s to be expected after a click has been made.

Related Posts:

Featured Seo Tool!

DigMyLink is a brand new Internal Linking Tool / Reporting Tool that I have designed in my spare time over the past year or so. I wrote it as a way to quickly over view any site to see ways to improve web site search engine rankings.

DigMyLink analyzes how you link to your internal pages. It is a Firefox Plugin and installs very easily. Simply download to your computer and drag it into the Firefox window.

Download now from Rankbydesign
Download now at mozilla.org

DigMyLink reports the URL, Title, Description and Content of any link as you hover over it. Is supports any page you happen to be on. It does this by reading into the pages info without actually browsing to the actual page with little or no wait time.

Internal links are highlighted in green. Hover over your links and a info window will appear. External links are ignored by DigMyLink and are shown in orange.

Note: To temporarily turn off DigMyLink go to lower right corner and select Off/On. To turn it off/on from session to session use the Tools | Addons | Disable option in Firefox menu.

DigmyLink will provide a great way for SEO’s and Webmasters to verify that you internal links and anchor text actually match the resulting pages Title. Description and Content. This is one of the key factors to what makes a great anchor link. Read how to Analyze Keywords in anchor text

Creating web pages is easy with a content manager such as Wordpress. Pages automatically post and get categorized with related content.

But sometimes you may need even more control over how your post are organized besides just using Categories for every post. This is where using Tags come into play.

Tags allow specific entries to grouped together into even smaller subsets. For example lets say I have written a new post on my site about a Linking SEO tool I use. So after finishing it, the first this I so is file it under a general Category called Tools.

But now I feel it needs even more clarification and that the category Tools is a bit too generic. So instead of creating another category, I assign it a Tag called Internal Linking Tool. What this does is create a main page listing for any entry with a tag called Internal Linking Tool.

Its this kind of link/content relationship that will boost your rankings with Google. This is because the main page listing which holds all the post relating to Internal Linking tools will over time will begin to build a heavier importance because of the number of links pointing to it.

In addition to having a main page about Link Building, at the end of each posts there will also be a Tag titled Internal Link Tools pointing to the main page. Internal link building will Tags will not only improve your rankings over a period of time but will serve as helpful way for your readers to explore related pages within your site.

Related Posts:
