Yahoo! drops Google
Yahoo! has just recently changed the game in the search engines. Recently Yahoo dropped Google and has started testing its own Search Engine Technology (mid Feb, 04). Although not yet available worldwide, Yahoo predicts a major change using its own enhanced algorithm built over the of technology from Inktomi (remember HotBot?) and marks an unofficial end to its partnership with Google, which dates back to October 2002.
Yahoo has said that this changeover will mean Yahoo will be directly responsible for more than half of all searches conducted in the United States.
Yahoo says consumers will continue to see improvements to Yahoo’s search technology in addition to advancements in search personalization and other user features. Stay tuned!
